App Engine Studio provides an intuitive and low code visual development environment that empowers citizen developers to build applications to power the digital enterprise.
App templates ServiceNow
App templates are pre-built applications available in App Engine Studio that can be duplicated multiple times to accelerate development and reduce repetitive dev tasks of creating an application for specific use cases. (Example: Event Registration)
Application Intake
The intake request process streamlines submitting ideas for app development. Using Application Intake, ideas are shared with the App Engine Studio admin for review.
Automation Engine
Create integrations and connections across multiple systems. Quickly connect with third-party APIs, build custom integrations, and automate repetitive tasks. Automation Engine includes Integration Hub and Robotic Process Automation Hub.
Citizen Developer Garner
A citizen developer is an employee who creates application capabilities for consumption by themselves or others, using tools that are not actively forbidden by IT or business units. A citizen developer is a persona, not a title or targeted role. They report to a business unit or function other than IT.

A user with any level of coding experience who has distinct knowledge of their own business processes, and a technical curiosity about how to build an app.
Citizen Developer
Not everyone agrees on what a citizen developer is, but the premise is always the same, which is let’s allow a broader group of the organization to innovate and create applications on a low-code platform. For some of our ServiceNow’s customers, citizen developers are true developers that just work in a line of business. For other customers, they are business analysts that are familiar with tools and technology, whether that’s Excel or various aspects, and can write a line of SQL.
Creator Studio
Creator Studio is designed for all developers, offering a guided, intuitive environment for building request-based applications. It breaks down the traditional barriers to app development, making it accessible for business process experts to bring their automation ideas to life.
Flow Designer
Provides capabilities within a design environment to automate approvals, tasks, notifications, and record operations without requiring code.
Form Builder
Form Builder is accessed from within Table Builder and can be used to configure form elements such as layouts, fields, field configuration, and UI policies; and then preview what the resulting form will look like.
HealthScan
ServiceNow HealthScan is an automated scanning tool that helps you understand and improve the health of your ServiceNow instance. Built on best practice definitions gathered from analyzing thousands of instances, this tool quickly scans your ServiceNow instance to provide data points across five key categories: security, upgradability, performance, manageability, and usability. HealthScan is used during implementation (Sprint Scan) and while running your ServiceNow instance.

Scope
a scope is a container that separates and organizes customizations, configurations, and applications. Scopes enable you to create, modify, and manage code and data without affecting other areas of the ServiceNow instance.
Spoke
A spoke is a scoped application containing Flow Designer content dedicated to a particular application or record type. For example, the ITSM Spoke contains actions for managing Task records such as the Create Task action.
Table Builder
Table Builder is a tool for editing data tables that have been added to an application.
Task
A task is any record that can be assigned to or completed by a user in ServiceNow.
Workspace Builder
Workspace Builder for App Engine is a no-code application that allows users to manage dashboards, build lists, and customize record pages for workspaces created in App Engine Studio. Customers with a Standalone App Engine license can access this exclusive feature.
